Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist):Lucknow: Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav has put the state government in the dock on the death of 7 people due to poisonous liquor in Phulpur. He said that the illegal liquor business in the state is running at double speed in the protection of power. Till now, dozens of people have lost their lives by drinking poisonous liquor. The spirits of liquor mafia have increased so much that they are openly smuggling and selling illicit liquor, defying the government rules law.
Akhilesh said that the work of smuggling, making and selling poisonous liquor is being done illegally only in the knowledge of Police and Excise Department in the state. In Kothi police station area of Barabanki, the BJP leader beat up the salesmen for not giving the borrowed liquor. Many BJP leaders have taken contracts. They also appear to be quick to earn goods.
12 people died due to poisonous liquor in Barabanki. Similarly, 12 people died in Hapur, 64 in Saharanpur and 2 in Firozabad. There have also been deaths in Etawah, Rampur, Jalaun. This series of deaths by drinking fake poisonous liquor continues unabated. There have been many painful incidents in the past, but no one learns from them.
The SP President said that the extent of insensitivity of the BJP government is that she has not yet become serious in trying to crack down on fake liquor businessmen.
