The storm is slowly intensifying and is likely to hit the coast of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at night. During this time, winds will go at a speed of 100-110 kmph, which will reach 145 kmph later. The Meteorological Department is keeping a close watch on it. The impact of the cyclone is now being seen in many areas. Heavy rains have started in Chennai and Kanchipuram. In the wake of the storm, South-Western Railway has canceled two trains scheduled for tomorrow. Apart from this, 26 flights to and from Chennai have also been canceled.

Due to the storm, heavy to very heavy rain warning was issued at different places in Thanjavur, Thiruvur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Myladuthirai, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Kallurachi, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai due to the storm. That is gone.
