Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ashutosh Dwivedi said that under sub-section (G) of Section 2 of Uttar Pradesh Disaster Management Act 2005, the epidemic caused by Covid-19 has been declared a disaster. He informed that 23 December 2020 is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Chaudhary Charan Singh. Various programs will be organized on 25 December on Christmas Day and 31 December on the last day of the year and on 1 January 2021 on the occasion of New Year.
In such a situation, there is a possibility of peace breaking by the anti-social elements. He said that in view of the severity of the epidemic situation and the prevailing situation then, Section 144 has been implemented in the Gautam Budh Nagar district from December 6 to January 2, 2021. Meanwhile, 138 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Sunday. According to government figures, the total number of cases in the district has reached 23,458. The number of patients being treated for an infection in the district has gone up to 1051.
