(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist) Patna: Vehicles will start racing on Thursday on the six-lane bridge being built on the Sone River parallel to the Koilwar bridge connecting Ara to Patna. At present, the construction of three lanes has been completed. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the bridge. Union Energy Minister RK Singh and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be present at the inauguration ceremony of the bridge. Work on the scheme started in January 2018. The cost of construction of the bridge is 266 crores. The bridge built parallel to Koilwar will be inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari through video conferencing. The opening ceremony will take place on the new bridge. Union Energy Minister RK Singh will be present there. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar can also join.

The length of the bridge is 1.528 km. The bridge deck has a width of 16.0 meters and a pavement of 1.5 meters at the top. The bridge has 74 spans. The length of each span is 41.3 meters. The peer has 432 piles.
