Aatmja Kumari(Intern Journalist): Lucknow: On October 5, four members of the PFI were arrested from the mont toll in Mathura for inciting a riot in Hathras. The arrested Atikurrahman and Masood had said in interrogation that Rauf Sharif, the general secretary of the student wing of PFI, Kerala, had provided financial support and resources to incite the riot.
In this case, the Enforcement Directorate was also involved in the investigation after the fact of funding from abroad came to light. A lookout notice was also issued on 18 November for the accused including Rauf.
Investigation agencies have revealed the fact that mastermind Rauf was getting crores of funds from India and abroad. This amount was being used to incite social disharmony and communal riots.
