(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: In recent days, the Delhi Metro Police conducted a study on crime patterns occurring inside the metro and in the metro station and station premises of the stations. It came to light that now the crooks are doing digital pickpocketing in the metro premises instead of snatching someone’s purse. The study also showed that now the crooks in the metro are committing more cases of thievery than theft and robberies.
At present, the Token Sale of Metro is closed due to Corona. In such a situation, those who have to travel will have to travel by taking a smart card.
Many such people reach there who do not have smart cards. For them, there is a system of selling smart cards in the station. But only Digital Payment is taken for that. Those who do not have digital payment arrangements, return. People returning like this become targets of thugs.
In Vaishali Metro Station, a person had an ATM card but could not take a smart card due to a lack of information. He was on his way back when a thug disguised as a decent man came to help him. The thug got him a smart card of Metro while doing digital transactions from his mobile.
In return, he took her ATM card number and some other information. It was soon found out that the thug withdrew 30 thousand rupees from his account.
The metro police say that if someone tries to sell you a mobile phone cheaply while traveling in the metro, asks for some kind of cash transaction, instead of transferring money online, you get one or two thousand rupees more cash. Be smart if you ask for payment.
Also, asks you to give more money in exchange for buying a metro card, citing the bad health of the mother, asks you to give more cash instead of transferring money online or in any similar way.
If I say to give you the lure of profit, then understand that you are on the target of thugs.
The only way to avoid this is to ignore the words of such people without getting caught in greed.
