(Aditya Shaw, Intern Journalist):Police raided the Dragon Fly Club near Mumbai Airport at around 2.30 pm on Monday night. Cases have been registered under sections 188, 269 and 34 of IPC against 27 celebrities and 7 staff, including cricketer Suresh Raina. Many celebrities were present at the club.

The party had 19 people from Delhi. Others were from Punjab and South Mumbai. Most of them had drunk. According to the information, the DragonFly Club at JW Marriott was raided by the team of DCP Raju Jain. Maharashtra still has lockdown rules. Under this, any kind of party or public event is prohibited after 11 pm.

According to the information, Singer Guru Randhawa, Suzanne Khan (Hrithik Roshan’s ex Wife) were also present during the raid. Police sources said a big singer escaped from the rear gate during the raid. The name of the king is coming in this.

What is Section 188, under which a case has been filed against many including Raina?
Action is taken against those who violate the rules of lockdown under Section 188 of IPC. Section 3 of the Epidemic Act of 1897 mentions that if someone violates the provisions, breaks the directives/rules of the government/law, then section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Can be punished. This section can be imposed against you even if you violate the instructions given by a government employee in this regard. If you are aware of those instructions issued by the government, yet you are violating them, then you can be taken legal action under section 188.
