Orders in this regard were issued on behalf of Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration, Anita Singh on Thursday. He said in his order that the demand for medical oxygen is increasing rapidly due to the increase in the number of corona-positive patients in various Covid hospitals. At the same time, the Medical Education Minister has instructed us to lay an oxygen pipeline here during the inspection of the Cancer Institute.
Maintaining oxygen supply for corona patients has become extremely important in the wider public health interest. In view of the demand and supply of oxygen from various hospitals, it is necessary to stop the supply of oxygen being given to the industries by the manufacturers and refilers of medical oxygen with immediate effect. This will increase the availability of oxygen for Covid patients. He has said that 100% supply of medical oxygen will be provided only for medical and hospital use till further orders.
As Corona infection increases, the government is working to strengthen medical facilities. Medical Education Minister Suresh Khanna informed that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the trauma center of KGMU is being completely converted into a Covid Hospital. He said that after the trauma center was converted to Covid Hospital, cardiac patients would be treated in Lari, cases related to gynecology at Queen Mary, and cancer-related problems at the Cancer Institute.
