Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after returning from the township tour in the evening, will go to Raj Bhavan at seven in the evening and meet the Governor. The meeting between Governor Anandiben Patel and the Governor this evening is also being seen adding to the possibilities of cabinet expansion. Significantly, after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior BJP leaders, and senior RSS officials in Delhi recently, the discussion of the reshuffle in the Yogi Cabinet and the State BJP organization is in full swing. At the center of the viral discussions is Arvind Sharma, a close aide of Modi. The way he was made an MLC after leaving the bureaucracy and joining the BJP recently, the discussion is all around that he can be entrusted with the responsibility of making him deputy CM in the Yogi cabinet. With this, some more reshuffle may also be in the organization to fill the vacant six posts of ministers.

It is believed that the Governor was yet to stay in Bhopal till Saturday. The speculation of the second cabinet expansion of the Uttar Pradesh government before the 2022 elections has also intensified with his return in this way. It is believed that the second expansion of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet will take place between 28 or 29 May. The time and date of the cabinet expansion have been finalized by the Raj Bhavan, even after that preparations have been started there.

The cabinet will be expanded for the second time: After the formation of the Yogi Adityanath government in the state on 19 March 2017, the cabinet was extended by the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh on 22 August 2019. There were 56 members in his cabinet. After this, three ministers have died due to coronavirus infection. Minister of State Vijay Kumar Kashyap has passed away recently after Chetan Chauhan and Kamala Rani Varun. The maximum number of ministers in the state cabinet can be up to 60. In the first cabinet expansion, six independent charge ministers were sworn in as cabinet ministers. After this, 6 Independent Charge Ministers were sworn in with three new faces including the Minister of State and 11 MLAs were given the place of State Ministers in the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Vacancy of six ministers in the state government: A maximum of 60 ministers can be appointed in the Yogi Adityanath government. At present, there are 23 cabinet ministers, 9 independent charge ministers, and 22 ministers of state in the Yogi Adityanath government cabinet. In this way, there are currently 54 ministers in the UP government. The posts of six ministers are still vacant in this government. With the election year approaching 2022, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath can bet on the political equation by adding some new people to his government.
