(Pooja Pal; Intern Journalist): Gorakhpur: The class teacher of Gorakhpur’s GN Public School, Section A, has raised controversy by stating some examples via online teaching to explain the topic-‘noun’. The teacher has given assorted examples of Pakistan, to which parents have objected. However, seeing the matter catching on, the teacher removed the immediate precedent.

To explain the topic-‘noun’, teacher Shadab Khanam gave some examples like ‘Pakistan is our beloved motherland’. ‘I will join the Pakistani Army’ and ‘Rashid Minhad was a brave soldier.’ No sooner did some parents saw this on the Whatsapp group than the screenshots of the same went viral. This incident created hatred among people.

The teacher-Shadab Khanam alleged that she aimed to explain the noun to the children in an easy way. For this, she Googled and found some small examples. She did not see whether it was regarding Pakistan, China, or America. Later, when she was acknowledged of people being hurt, she immediately changed it.

The Manager of GN Public School- Goraksh Pratap Singh alleged that hardly did the matter came to his notice when he questioned the teacher for the same. She admitted that she had committed a mistake. A notice has been sent to her and further action will be taken after clarification.

The management has asked Shadab Khanam not to work and has strongly condemned the objectionable example given by her regarding Pakistan during online teaching work. Besides stopping the teacher from teaching, the school authority constituted a committee to investigate the matter.

 In a statement issued by the school management, this crime of the teacher is unpardonable. Teaching work is permitted on behalf of the school by observing the certified books by NCERT. We have to respect our nationality at all levels. Whoever conducts something against it will be acted upon. The matter is serious.
