(Riya Singh, Intern Journalist): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his secretaries reportedly underwent Covid-19 testing after attending an event where a member of the BJP was found to have been infected with the deadly virus as well. Earlier, Awadhesh Narayan Singh, chairperson of the Bihar Legislative Council, his wife and their son had tested positive for the highly contagious coronavirus.
On July 1, Awadhesh Narayan Singh administered the oath of office to nine newly elected members of the state legislative council in Bihar in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi.
Other leaders who participated in the event include Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Ministers Shravan Kumar, Mangal Pandey, and Vinod Narayan Jha, BJP whip in Bihar Legislative Council Reena Yadav, and MLA Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Bhola Yadav.
