(Riya Saha, Intern Journalist)Dumka: Nishikant Dubey, BJP’s Godda MP, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah, seeking their intervention to order a CBI probe into chief minister Hemant Soren’s alleged links with a “businessman of disrepute” Amit Agarwal. Agarwal’s companies are “wilful defaulters of several Indian banks”, Dubey pointed out. In his letter written on July 2, Dubey also alleged that Agarwal and his companies manage Soren’s funds through illegal deals and have demanded a CBI investigation in this regard.
Referring to an upcoming multi-storeyed building by Agarwal’s firm in Kolkata, Dubey claimed that Soren has a stake in it. He said, “Hemant Soren, in the name of Aurora Water Fronts, had invested in the Kolkata-based property and he often visits there to oversee the project.”
Dubey also claimed that Hemant and Agarwal have jointly bought 500 acres of land in and around Ranchi.
Dubey appended last year’s balance sheet of JMM — of which Soren is the working president — and indicated that maximum funds were donated to the party by companies owned by the Amit and his brother Vineet.
