(Suparna Ghosh, Intern Journalist) Kolkata: As direct flights from 6 cities including Delhi were banned in Kolkata, a man traveled from Delhi to Kolkata via Guwahati. After landing at the Kolkata airport, the man himself demanded quarantine as he got a clear passage at the airport. The man straight went up to the medical desk and revealed that he had got a Covid-19 positive report.
The resident of North 24 Parganas, is said to be clearly asymptomatic. His temperature was below 99 degrees, and thus he got a clear passage at the airport, said by a source. The man was denied quarantine by the airport authorities, but still, the man appeared to be determined. In fact, he also said that he initially had a cough and now sore throat, but still couldn’t convince the airport authorities, and it was only then when he produced his Covid-19 positive result and left the authority in total shock.
After his revelation, the man was immediately rushed to the quarantine center at Rajarhat and the government has been desperately tracing contacts during his travel from Delhi to Kolkata via Guwahati. Amidst the rising cases, it is not known yet that how the man managed to pass the Delhi Airport without even being checked given the current protocols.
