Deoria: The Deoria district administration has stepped up its preparations for the assembly elections in the neighboring province of Bihar. Barriers were put up at the UP-Bihar border from late Saturday evening. Vehicle checks have started on all the barriers. Can’t get a single vehicle out without checking. Police personnel is to be deployed soon on river ghats near the Bihar border.
The barrier has been erected at Kukurghanti, Shivji Chowk, Bhigari, Bhore Tiraha, Tadwa, Bhopatpura, Chakia Kothi, Bhawani Chhapar, Hareram intersection of Khampar police station area of the district. The barrier has been erected in Bankul, Pratappur Sugar Mill, Madaniya, Chitrasen Banakata, Sundarpar, Rampur Bujurg, Ekadanga, Ramkola in the Bankata police station area. Barriers have been erected at Bhatparani in Mahua and Manjharia Amritchak, Balu Afghans of Bhatni police station area, Ghanti, Laxmipur, and Solapur. The barrier has been installed at Mehrauna in Lar police station area and checking has started.
