(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) Rajasthan: Political developments are changing every moment in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the Jaipur Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has registered a case against Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Sanjay Jain on charges of toppling Ashok Gehlot’s government and horse-trading. Apart from this, a case has also been registered against Bhanwar Lal. However, the Union Minister has rejected the allegations of Congress outright. He said that “the audio is fake and I am ready for investigation”.
Congress has directly attacked Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat citing an audio clip. The party has alleged that Shekhawat is involved in a conspiracy to topple the Congress government in the state and the BJP should sack him from the post.
Party’s chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala told reporters, “Two sensational and shocking audiotapes were revealed through the media yesterday evening. He said that these audio tapes have allegedly revealed the conversation between Union Cabinet Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma and BJP leader Sanjay Jain.
BJP’s Rajasthan in-charge Satish Poonia said, ‘What happened today was embarrassing for Rajasthan politics. The Chief Minister’s residence is becoming the center of fake audio and character assassination attempts of leaders. There has been an attempt to drag the Union Ministers in the case.
Referring to an audio tape that went viral in the media on Thursday, he said, “Congress has suspended MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma from the primary membership of the party until the veracity of these audio tapes is verified.” Surjewala said that similarly the primary membership of MLA Vishvendra Singh has also been suspended. Show cause notices have been issued to both of them.
It is noteworthy that both MLA Singh and Sharma belong to the Sachin Pilot camp. Singh is considered close to Pilot and the three ministers he removed from the post, including Pilot, are among those.
