(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist): China’s Army People’s Liberation Army’s withdrawal from the collision site Gogra and Hot Springs in eastern Ladakh was completed on Thursday. Sources connected with the case have said that the work has been done as per the agreement reached in military talks to reduce tension in the area. He also informed that the two sides have also completed the construction of a three-kilometer buffer zone in Galvan Valley, Gogra, and Hot Springs. Due to this tension, the possibility of collision in these areas has reduced at present. According to sources, the PLA has completely withdrawn its troops from Gogra (Patrolling Point 17). In this way, both sides have completed the first phase of the withdrawal of troops to avert confrontation.
Now focus on Pangong Tso
He said that now the entire focus is on Pangong Tso, where the number of soldiers is being reduced by Finger 4. India is insisting that China withdraw its army from Finger 4 and 8. Meanwhile, there are reports that two rounds of core commander-level fourth round of talks may be held between the two sides. Both armies will also jointly confirm in the next few days whether the troops have returned.
The withdrawal of troops was formally started from Monday morning after a two-hour telephonic conversation between India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday. In the talks, the two sides agreed to the early withdrawal of troops from the conflict zones and to create an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the region.
Doval and Wang are also representatives of their respective countries at the border negotiations. After this conversation, the process of withdrawing troops from both countries from the Finger areas of Galvan Valley, Hot Springs, Gogra, and Pangong Tso began. However military sources say that the Indian Army will maintain its aggression until China significantly reduces the number of troops at its rear base.
Tension has been going on for the last two months
The incident was further aggravated by the June 15 incident. In this incident, there was a bloody conflict between the soldiers of the two countries, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed, while 43 Chinese soldiers were killed. However, China has not yet officially confirmed the number of its casualties.
