New Delhi: (Geetesh Ujjainwal, Intern Journalist) Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal conducted a meeting with senior health department officials to review the deaths due to COVID-19 in the capital and analyze the data hospital-wise. According to the government official, COVID deaths are decreasing because the Delhi government is working on reducing the mortality rate and patients’ management in the hospitals has further improved.
A total of 3,545 deaths and 1.18 lakh Covid-19 cases have been reported so far. The positivity rate in the capital is going down and the number of recoveries is going up.
After the last meeting on July 10 on the issue, an official said that the analysis showed that the city’s overall death rate has come down to 3% from 3.6% in June while the daily average of Covid-19 deaths has come down to roughly 2.5% with the average daily number of deaths being less than 50 and a daily number of fresh cases being around 2,000 in last fortnight.
