Corona vaccine in India, mice, and rabbits are being tested

(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist):  While the cases of coronavirus are constantly increasing, there has been good news about the corona vaccine. ICMR Director General Balram Bhargava said that two Indian indigenous vaccines are being made. 2 companies in India are conducting clinical studies for vaccines on 1000-1000 people at different sites. They have been tested on mice and rabbits. The data were presented to the Drug Controller General (DGCI), after which both of them got approval to start early-stage human trials earlier this month. 

Dr. Balram Bhargava said that 60 percent of the world’s vaccines (such as rubella, measles, polio) are supplied from India, whether in Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, or anywhere else. Therefore, India is considered to be an important player for manufacturing vaccines for supply in the world. He said that India is considered to be a mine of medicines in the world. About 60 percent of the drugs used in the United States are of Indian origin. This is probably known by many people in the world. So they are in touch with India.

Dr. Bhargava said that Russia has also accelerated the process of acquiring the vaccine. He has also got success in primary stages. Russia has accelerated the development of the vaccine. On the other hand, China is also busy preparing the vaccine. There are increasing studies on the vaccine.

Dr. Balaram Bhargava said that work on two vaccines has also been accelerated in America. Today you must have read that America has intensified two vaccine candidates. England is also increasingly working on the vaccine at Oxford University. He is keen on making the vaccine fit for human use.
