(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist): On August 23, an order was issued by the Bihar Police Headquarters to the Superintendents of Police and Rail SPs of all the districts, according to which they have to review the work of policemen who are over 50 years of age and physically not fit.
In this letter sent by the police department, the instructions to review the work of all the police personnel from rank to DSP rank were given to the Superintendents of Police and Rail SP of the districts. According to the information, the police department is reviewing how many policemen in Bihar who are over 50 years old and who are not fit for their work.
According to sources, such policemen who are not fit and physically fit for their work can be compulsorily retired. It is being told that after receiving the list from all the districts, the police department will have a review meeting in this regard on the 9th of every month.
The Police Association in Bihar has strongly opposed the order issued by the Police Department. Bihar Police Association President Mrityunjay Kumar Singh has said that if the Police Department does not withdraw this order, there will be agitation on behalf of policemen in the entire state in the coming days.
