(Namita Pradhan, Intern Journalist) Japan; The Health Ministry of Japan has approved dexamethasone, a steroid that is used widely and is cheap, as the second treatment for the Covid-19 after the trial in Britain showed the intake of the drugs reduced the death in hospital patients.
The ministry included dexamethasone as an option for the treatment with Gilead Sciences Inc’s antiviral remdesivier in a revision of its handbook. It was widely reported by the Japanese media and also viewed by Reuters.
In a trial by researchers in the United Kingdom has shown dexamethasone as the first drug to help Covid-19 patients from the death which was a major breakthrough in the pandemic.
