(Sandhya Jha, Intern Journalist): Security forces foiled a conspiracy to attack by bombing a car at Ayanagund in Pulwama last week. After a week of investigation, it is learned that Mohammad Ismail Alvi alias Lambu, a close relative of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar, was involved in this plot to repeat an attack like Pulwama. Jem predominates in the Lumbu Valley. He played a key role in the suicide attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama on 14 February 2019. 40 soldiers were killed in it.
According to a report, two officers of the Counter-Terrorism Department investigating the case have said that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will soon investigate the matter. Investigation agency Ismail Lambu is also involved in nabbing last year’s attacks.
Lumbu had helped in raising explosives for Pulwama attack
An official said that Lumbu is also known as Ismail Bhai. He had informed three terrorists Mudassir Khan, Khalid, and Mohammad Omar Farooq involved in the conspiracy of the Pulwama attack to collect explosives. He was told how to get gelatin sticks from stone quarries in the valley? He also helped the trio collect explosive materials like ammonium nitrate from local shops. The three terrorists were killed in an encounter a month after the Pulwama attack.
Ismail Lumbu takes over the reins of Jaish in the Valley in 2018
Lumbu came to India in 2018. After killing Kari Mufti Yasil in an army encounter in April 2018, Lambu took over the reins of Jaish in the valley. Lambu is also an IED specialist. He helped fit the bomb in the van used for the Pulwama attack. Ismail’s associate Sameer Ahmed Dar was also involved in the conspiracy to attack. It is believed that India pursued the same and carried out an airstrike on terrorist camps in Balakot, Pakistan.
Jaish conspired with other terrorist organizations
Another officer said forensic experts indicated that the bomb found in the car was made of RDX, ammonium nitrate, and nitroglycerin. The bomb used in the Pulwama attack was also made from them. Jaish-e-Mohammed’s involvement in both incidents is seen. The Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba were also involved in the conspiracy to bomb the car last week. Because all of them are plotting to carry out a big terrorist attack under pressure from the Pakistani Army.
