New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, through a video conference late Thursday night. The two exchanged about half an hour with the global impact of the corona epidemic. Scientific Innovation and Research and Development were also involved in the discussion.
Modi also praised the Gates Foundation’s health-related work not only in India but in many other parts of the world. He sought suggestions from Bill Gates about how India’s capabilities could be better utilized for the benefit of the world.
Modi told about the works of the government
~ The Prime Minister mentioned the works of the government. He explained how health services in India are being strengthened during this epidemic. Apart from this, Ayurveda medicines are also being used to increase immunity of people. Cleanliness is being emphasized. He said that all these things have given strength to India in fighting the corona epidemic.
~ He told Gates that people in India have accepted social distancing. Along with this, people have been supported from wearing masks to following lockdown rules. This has succeeded to some extent in preventing corona infection.
Bill Gates said – India’s role in battle with Corona is important
Bill Gates thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for talking. He said that global partnership is needed to fight this epidemic. India’s role is important in reducing social and economic impact and providing vaccines, testing and treatment for all.
