(Satya Havilah, Intern Journalist) Kathmandu: Opposition groups led by former Prime Minister Prachanda (Pushpa Kamal Dahal) on Sunday expelled Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from the Communist Party of Nepal for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities. With the latest decision, the infighting in the party has intensified. Senior party leader Ganesh Shah said the decision to remove Oli from the party’s primary membership was taken at a standing committee meeting.
It is known that Olini was also removed from the post of party co-president in December. Along with Prachanda, Madhav, who was close to him, appointed Nepal to the post. The violent faction-dominated Standing Committee on January 15 sought Oli’s explanation on the issue of anti-party activities. Ganesh Shah said the latest decision was taken as no explanation was received from him.
