(Pooja Pal; Intern Journalist): The controversy over Amazon Prime’s web series ‘Patal Lok’ has been steadily increasing. BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar, after registering a complaint, has now demanded cricketer Virat Kohli to divorce his wife and ‘Patal Lok’ producer Anushka Sharma.
The MLA has filed a complaint against Anushka Sharma for misrepresenting the caste and Indian agencies of Sanatan Dharma through the series and has now demanded that Virat should divorce Anushka by showing her patriotism. Speaking to a media house, Nandkishore said, “Anushka Sharma has committed treason. Virat Kohli is a patriot. He has played for the country. They should divorce Anushka to get a good message in society’.
The MLA wrote in his complaint, “Bollywood actress and producer of web series Patalalok, aired on Amazon Prime, showed my photo and other BJP leaders inaugurating a marg with a leader related to criminals named Balakrishna Vajpayee in the web series. I am currently a BJP MLA and my photograph has been used without my permission. Apart from this, the portrayal of the Gurjar caste is involved in dacoits and wrongdoing in this web series. An attempt has also been made to tarnish the image of the BJP in the series”.
