(Anjali Shreya, Intern Journalist) Patna: The anti-free movement of students of Patna Women’s College in the capital has now become a campaign on social media. Protest against the fees at Patna Women’s College, the students have started a petition campaign on Change.org to make pressure on the college administration to reduce the fees by making it a weapon. Actually, there is an order from the college to deposit the fees by 31 July.

After the order, the students raised their voice against it on Twitter, after which the college administration was given the facility to deposit the fees in the installment instead of reducing the fees. But the students were further infuriated by this and their movement now became a campaign.
Change.org is seeking cooperation in the movement through a petition called “Patna Women’s college fee reduction”. The students say that the income of their families has been affected due to Corona and it is not appropriate to charge such a huge fee at present without using any facilities during the Corona period. Students say that as long as the college is closed, only the money from online classes should be taken. The rest be forgiven.

Actually, the biggest problem for the girl students protesting against the fees is that the college is closed in this pandemic but they have been asked for library fees and campus maintenance fees, which has not been used by anyone during the Corona period. There is also a receipt of college fees in the petition, showing that a large part of the total fees is also those things that have not been used in the lockdown due to corona.
The protest of the students is about the fact that it is not appropriate to charge huge fees even on those things which the girls have not used during the Corona period.

Principal Professor of Patna Women’s College, Sister Maria Rashmi AC had said after that – “If any student has a problem related to fees, then she can come and speak directly. Fees cannot be completely waived, but fees can be reduced by giving them in installments. After July 17, notice will be given to reduce the fees after taking out the notice in the college. Not only this, but many types of fees will also be waived. We understand the problem of our students.”
