(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) Inspection of new district Probation Officer in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, found that the Juvenile Act is not being followed in any child home. All centers have been given a copy of this act and all concerned Officers, employees have been instructed to study and follow it strictly. Child protection home and women’s asylum report will be ready. District Probation Officer Abhay Kumar inspected the first child protection home in Kalyanpur. Many drawbacks found here. Only 10 employees were working there instead of 25 to take care of the children. The remaining posts were vacant for a long time.
The superintendent of the children’s home does not even have a residence here. This is also causing problems in superiors. The proposal for vacant posts will be prepared and sent to the Director of women and housing Department. District Probation Officer told that all personnel will be given training in Juvenile act. He said that the government has instructed to send the report here from time to time. The probation officer’s team inspected the quarantine center at KDA in the afternoon.
