Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalists ) Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has proved itself in the Covid-19 and emerged as a rescuer for the people, said CM Yogi Adityanath on Thursday dedicating the 6 new depots & bus shelters in the state and laying the foundation for seven upcoming one.
He said that there is no big deal for any organization to perform in normal days but Upsrtc has performed very well during COVID-19 also, “During a lockdown when I saw a crowd of people on UP-Delhi border. I called transport minster and official on the same night and told that must do something for the people. within the next 48 hrs, more than 3.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh people were made to reach their destination by UPSRTC. After 48 hours when inspected the spot, I could see no one walking on foot”, he said The biggest challenge was to rescue our students stuck in other states.”l again asked the UPSRTC to help the students and they were rescued free of cost setting an example for the settings to follow”, the CM said. More than 12,500 student was stuck in Kota and another Over 15,000 were in Prayag due to lockdown.
Another challenge was to help migrants from the other states.”There were around 35 taken in number UPSRTC buses ferried more than 35 lakh workers to their destination. The officers and staff did this without worrying about their health”, Yogi said expressing gratitude towards the PM railways minister for operating shramik special trains
Time like Covid-19 is a challenge and trial for any person or organization and UPSRTC preformed. Now the bus station is being developed on the lines of an airport as far as passenger amenities are concerned, he said.
