(Manisha Mahar, Intern Journalist), Amritsar; In the border town of Ajnala, young lovers have committed suicide by tying a scarf on a tree. The boy and the girl were distant relatives. A 24-year-old boy in the village and a girl had a love affair from six months. The girl was so madly in love, she had left home for the past six months and lived at a relative’s house. The boy was a disabled person. Both wanted to get married among themselves but their families were not ready. Because of this, late Sunday evening, by hanging a tree from the village itself, the left the world.
In the morning when the villagers were passing by, they saw two dead bodies hanging on the tree, and information was given to the police station, Jhander. SHO Avtar Singh has removed the dead bodies from the tree and sent them to the post mortem. The SHO said that police would investigate after getting the report of post mortem. Police are in touch with their families. An investigation has revealed that the two were in love with each other. After the post-mortem, the police conducted 174 and handed over the bodies to the families of both.
