(Pooja Dubey, Intern Journalist) There is a possibility of ending the political upheaval in Rajasthan. In fact, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is once again in touch with the Congress top leadership, surrounded by allegations of conspiracy to topple the Rajasthan government and horse-trading. Pilot met Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi on Monday.
Asked about talks and reconciliation with Pilot and rebel MLAs, a senior Congress leader said, “We have said this before and are still saying that if Pilot and other rebel MLAs try to destabilize the government. If apologized, the party may consider re-adopting them.
The Assembly session in Rajasthan is starting from August 14. Earlier, Sachin Pilot’s meeting with Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka indicate that the Rajasthan crisis may end soon. The meeting between the three has been positive, there are indications that Congress has been able to convince Sachin Pilot.
The leaders who supported Sachin Pilot have said that “they are in touch with the Congress leadership and the party has assured that Issues related to the political situation of Rajasthan will be resolved soon.”
Some rebel MLAs of Rajasthan Congress have approached the party. Some of them have also met the senior leadership and have been asked by the party to offer an unconditional apology, after which they are free to meet the top leadership and express grievances.
The Rajasthan Congress MLAs demanded action against Sachin Pilot and other rebel MLAs at a legislative party meeting on Sunday. State Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey said that he would not advocate rebel MLAs in front of the party high command.
