Saloni Subha ( Intern Journalist ) A constable of Bihar Military Police shot dead his own female colleague and then turned the gun on himself on Tuesday morning, informed Police. This is the Seventh such incident from January 2020 in Bihar in which the policemen have either committed suicide or killed a colleague.
The incident took place at 8:30 am near the woman’s restroom at the headquarters at BMP-1, which is also called as “Gurkha battalion” as it produces most of its workforce from the members of that tribe.
Constable Amar Subba killed constable Varsha Tigga with his service self-loading rifle. Both were from Darjeeling in West Bengal. Subba had joined BMP 18 years ago However Tigga had completed two years in service.
The incident took place minutes after a change of guards in the BMP-1 headquarters. Both were in uniforms at the time of the incidents. The police recovered five empty cartridges from the spot. Patna’s senior superintendent of Police later visited the crime scene.
