(Deepshikha Gautam, Intern Journalist) New Delhi: Keeping in mind the deteriorating air quality due to air pollution across the country, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken a big decision. The NGT has banned the use of sales in Delhi-NCR from tonight to 30 November, while also ordering other states of the country. The NGT said in its order that only green firecrackers can be sold and used in cities where the air quality is correct and only 2 hours has been given for this. This discount is given for Diwali, Chhath Puja, Christmas and New Year.

Significantly, the Delhi government has already banned the sale of firecrackers in the capital on Diwali. Before this, there was a demand from Delhi and its surrounding cities for a ban on firecrackers. After this, as soon as such demands from other states started arising, the NGT expanded the scope of the case. After this, it included all the states and union territories of the country.
