Suparna Ghosh (Intern Journalist) Kolkata: Thursday saw the fatality of an Indian Army Brigadier, who was already suffering from the deadly pandemic and was admitted to the military hospital at Barrackpore. The cause of his death is said to be an acute respiratory problem caused by pneumonia and other Covid-19 complications, according to a source.
Brigadier Vikas Samyal had his posting here at the Eastern Command headquarters. Deadly Covid-19 easily knocked him off from his prestigious office ranking, and on Thursday his death was reported.
Sources add that due to the deterioration in his health condition, the patient was shifted to the Command Hospital. India is said to have reported 21,317 cases so far in the last 24 hours along with 378 deaths. West Bengal today reported 649 cases with 16 fatalities, showing an increase of Covid-19 cases which is definitely worrisome and at the same time fatal. Looking at the count, India hereby reaches to 6,26,538 cases till now.
